The Ada Kaleh, Mon Amour project is applied to observing the requirements formulated by contemporary Romanian society to recover at least partially its own historical and cultural past.
Due to the presence of historical ethnic minorities within the borders of the Romanian state, the valorization of intangible and material goods with a major cultural impact must also include these communities with their own specificity.
In recent years, the story of Ada Kaleh Island has returned more and more often to the attention of the media and the public both at home and abroad, many people calling for the need for a specific action to recover this small part of Romania's oriental history.
The proposed project aims both a cultural and moral recovery, as well as a commercial one, focused on the revalorization of some cultural handicraft material products that could only be purchased on the island of Ada Kaleh.
The recovery of musical cultural values, which are immortalized on this album, is part of the research of the Anton Pann Old Chamber Music Ensemble.
The pieces included here can be structured into songs of the islanders and songs with extensive circulation, taken especially from the repertoire of Istanbul.
The songs selected for this album represent a small but important part of the sounds of every-day life on the island of Ada Kaleh.

Proiectul Ada Kaleh Mon Amour este aplicat pe observarea cerintelor formulate de societatea contemporana romaneasca de a recupera macar partial propriul trecut istoric si cultural. Avand in vedere existenta unor minoritati etnice istorice in granitele statului roman, valorificarea unor bunuri imateriale și materiale cu impact major cultural trebuie sa cuprinda și aceste comunitati cu specific propriu.
În ultimii ani, povestea insulei Ada Kaleh a revenit tot mai des in atentia massmedia și a publicului din tara și din strainatate, multi clamand necesitatea ·unei actiuni concrete de recuperare a unei particele din istoria orientala a Romaniei.
Proiectul propus vizeaza atat o recuperare culturala si morala, cat si una reala comerciala, axata pe revalorificarea unor produse culturale materiale de artizanat ce puteau fi achizitionate doar de pe insula Ada Kaleh.
Recuperarea unor valori culturale muzicale, ce se afla imortalizate pe acest album sonor, este parte din munca de cercetare a Ansamblului cameraI de muzica veche Anton Pann. Piesele expuse aici pot fi structurate in cantece ale insularilor și cantece cu circulatie extinsa, preluate in special din repertoriul de Istanbul.
Melodiile selectate pentru acest album reprezinta o mica parte, dar importanta, din cotidianul sonor de pe insula Ada Kaleh.
